The Australian Government recently proposed removal of almost 500 ‘nuisance’ tariffs. Removal of these tariffs will assist Australian businesses, especially small businesses, from unnecessary administrative costs and compliance burdens. The attached internal memo provides a summary of the proposed tariff lines to be removed.
While the consultation process for the removal of these tariffs has closed, COSBOA welcomes any member comments on the removal of these including any other tariffs you think should be removed. COSBOA will then facilitate any commentary and feedback to the relevant Treasury team.
