New Additions to COSBOA Board

Welcoming fresh expertise for small business advocacy whilst honouring past achievements of outgoing Directors

The Council of Small Business Organisations Australia (COSBOA) would like to express its deep appreciation for the invaluable contributions made by Directors Colm Maguire and David Gandolfo as they embark on new ventures. Furthermore, COSBOA is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Ngeow as the newest addition to its esteemed board.

Colm Maguire, Chief Operating Officer, Pharmacy Guild of Australia, has served on the board for five years and his dedication and expertise have made a significant impact to supporting small businesses and advocating on their behalf; Colm’s professional insights have played a crucial role in shaping the COSBOA strategies and initiatives.

“I am incredibly proud of the work undertaken in my five years on the board and the special relationships forged with some great people focussed on ensuring small business is supported, prioritised and advocated for.

“With new leadership now in place and a bright future ahead, I wish the team well and thank them for the friendship, professionalism and dedication to small business across Australia,” said Maguire.

At the June COSBOA Board meeting, Andrew Ngeow, West Australian Branch President, Pharmacy Guild of Australia, was appointed to fill this casual vacancy. As a small business owner running his own pharmacy, Andrew will bring practical and hands-on experience of the challenges facing small business, and his knowledge and experience at Association level will provide COSBOA with invaluable insights across the pharmacy community.

“I am excited about this opportunity to help shape the policies and strategies which will ensure the small business sector remains viable and sustainable.

“This is a challenging time and one we must prepare for and face with the confidence that comes from having an organisation like COSBOA supporting all the businesses in the sector,” said Ngeow.

David Gandolfo OAM, Chair of Advocacy at The Commercial & Asset Finance Brokers Association of Australia Ltd, departs the COSBOA board after nine years to take on a new Directorship with the Jobs and Skills Council.

“I would like to express my deep gratitude to the COSBOA board, team, and members, individually and as a collective, for their unwavering support throughout my tenure.

“It’s been an incredible nine years spent as a board member, serving three terms and previously holding the position of Deputy Chair, however, I am now excited to embrace new opportunities and challenges, including my recent appointment to the Digital Skills Organisation (Jobs & Skills Council).

“While I am stepping down from my board member position, I am pleased to announce that I will continue my involvement with the Council, representing CAFBA. Rest assured, I will remain an active participant and devoted supporter of COSBOA, contributing to its growth and success,” said Gandolfo.

Director positions will be elected at the COSBOA AGM in October 2023.
