The Council of Small Business Organisations most recent submission on the Fair Work Amendment Legislation Amendment (Closing Loopholes) Bill 2023.
There are over 2.5 million small businesses in Australia spanning cafes, news agencies, hairdressers, bookkeepers, pharmacies, grocers, builders and more.
COSBOA is extremely concerned about the current cost of doing business crisis and in particular the growing amount of compliance and redtape being pushed onto small business. We need structural improvements that at least reduce redtape, remove unnecessary compliance costs and decreases the barriers to entry and promotes small business innovation. Small businesses are not naïve and understand that government cannot prevent external shocks.
