It has come to light that the ACT government has a memorandum of understanding with Unions ACT that basically gives unions the right to veto decisions made through ACT government tendering processes.
This recent version of the MOU was unknown to the public and industry for well over 12 months.
By signing this MOU the government has shown they have no faith in their own public servants. The government also has no faith in Safe Work Australia or in the Fair Work Ombudsman.
The government has basically outsourced part of its tendering process to a third party.
